About the Council
The Island Council is the highest administrative body of the public entity. The council is responsible for adopting the budget, policies, and regulations. The council also oversees the preparation and implementation of the policies by the Executive Council.
The members are elected by voting on general election day. This entails that each member is a representative of the people and serves the general interest. The council consists of 5 members which are elected every four years.
The Independent chairperson of the Island Council is the Island Governor.
